Join any meeting from Microsoft Teams Rooms. Available now

Until now, users joining Microsoft Teams meetings through Cloud Video Interop (CVI) solutions—whether on Cisco systems, Poly devices, or other standards-based (SIP/H323) meeting room setups—have faced a frustrating limitation. When a presenter shared their slides using PowerPoint Live, CVI participants saw nothing but a black screen. No warning, no indication that content was being shared—just a void where critical information should be.

That all changes now.

Pexip is introducing support for PowerPoint Live within Teams meetings via CVI. This means that for the first time, users joining from CVI-enabled meeting rooms will be able to see PowerPoint Live content, bringing them another step closer to a Teams meeting interaction from their meeting room systems. This is a long-awaited solution for organizations that rely on standards-based video conferencing systems while working within the Microsoft ecosystem.

What’s new?

Several months ago, we took our first step toward solving this limitation by introducing a simple notification to the meeting room attendees to let users know that PowerPoint Live content was being shared. The workaround was to open a laptop or personal device to view the presentation. Now, we’re taking it even further.

Now, thanks to the upcoming release of Pexip Infinity version 37, CVI users will finally be able to see the PowerPoint Live content directly on their meeting room screens, ensuring that everyone in the meeting room gets the full picture and can take advantage of the Teams platform. Plus, PowerPoint Live via CVI will be available ‘as a service’ soon after!
