Telstra and Pexip partner to create seamless video communication experiences for large Australian organizations with complex IT collaboration environments

Telstra adds Pexip Cloud Video Interop (CVI) to portfolio, enabling customers to connect to any meeting, whether Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or standards-based video conferencing

SYDNEY & OSLO – 10 November 2020 – Telstra, and Pexip, a leading provider of enterprise video conferencing and collaboration solutions, today announced a partnership to deliver video meeting technology that enables customers to connect their video conferencing and collaboration platforms with a single solution.

Modern workspaces are filled with video-capable meeting and digital collaboration platforms. As more employees work from home and businesses are adopting distributed and hybrid working environments, they face interoperability challenges with different workplace tools and meeting systems that simply will not work together.

Pexip is widely considered to be the leading provider of interoperability between video meeting solutions. The company is certified by Microsoft to provide interoperability solutions for Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business and Pexip’s CVI solution is compatible with releases all the way from Microsoft Lync 2010. In addition, with Pexip, users can join Google Meet calls from video conferencing solutions from vendors such as Cisco, Poly, Lifesize, and countless others, as well as from Skype for Business and non-Google browsers.

The two companies already have a long-standing relationship and have worked together to support large enterprise customers such as PwC Australia to make their multiple collaboration and meeting solutions co-exist. The Pexip solution makes it easier for customers to harness the full potential of their existing meeting room equipment, without having to replace it, providing customers with high quality, secure calls.

“We implemented this solution to connect a number of platforms together. This allowed us to integrate our virtual meeting room technology and improve the experience for our clients and staff,” said Vishy Narayanan, Chief Digital and Information Officer at PwC Australia.

“This has been important, particularly within the Covid-19 environment when being connected digitally is more important than ever before”.

“As more employers are encouraging their staff to work remotely and distributed workforces are becoming the norm, companies are faced with the challenge of enabling their staff with secure, easy to use collaboration and meeting tools that work together,” said Steve Neville Country Manager Australia for Pexip. “We are happy to have formalised our partnership with Telstra and look forward to continuing to work together to help enterprise customers solve these technology challenges.”

Pexip CVI will be part of the Telstra Apps Marketplace, available from 16 November 2020. For more information, visit www.telstra.com.
