The newly released v35 of Pexip's Infinity platform continues our commitment to seamless video communication. This version significantly enhances the user experience with additional features and control options, while improving administrator authentication.
Put meeting control in the users’ hands
The latest update includes a redesigned user interface for web clients with improved placement and visibility of controls to drive enhanced platform usability. The new layout simplifies navigation and settings management during meetings. With a focus on ergonomics and accessibility, these changes remove barriers to participation by supporting the diverse needs of video meeting users.
Put the right participants in the spotlight with ‘pinning’ feature
This technology preview feature allows specific participants to be prominently placed and locked within a conference layout, enhancing focus on key speakers. This is useful for scenarios such as keynote presentations, panel discussions, classrooms, as well as courtrooms.
Make your message clear with banner messaging
Administrators can now send banner messages to all participants within a conference, ensuring important announcements are seen by everyone. The banner is displayed at the top of the screen for all participants, so it cannot be missed.
Ducking controls for use with interpreters
Ducking reduces the volume of certain participants when another participant is speaking. This feature, part of Pexip Secure Meetings for Justice, ensures interpreters can be clearly heard by lowering the volume of other speakers during interpretation.
Enhanced privacy with end-to-end encryption
You now have the option to always enable “direct media” for calls, which restricts virtual meeting rooms to just two WebRTC participants. This setup enforces end-to-end encryption, providing optimal privacy and security for sensitive interactions, such as doctor-patient communications.
Microsoft Teams layout enhancements
Pexip's Cloud Video Interop (CVI) integration with Microsoft Teams has been upgraded to include an enhanced Teams-like layout with improved framing logic.
Administrators receive an upgrade too
You can now enable single sign-on (SSO) through an OpenID Connect (OIDC) provider for the Pexip Infinity Administrator interface. This allows for easy authentication and authorization, multi-user administration with variable privileges, and the enforcement of multi-factor authentication (MFA) for added security.
Coming soon: the power of AI, with the privacy you need
The new Pexip AI Media Server (AIMS) will serve as your access point to cutting-edge, secure, and private AI functionalities powered by NVIDIA. This will enable live captions in a self-hosted environment, to ensure complete control over private AI data. Later on, the AIMS offering will expand to include live speech-to-text and speech-to-speech translations. This product is currently in beta with general availability planned for later this year.
Ready to upgrade?
We strongly advise customers to always upgrade to the most recent version of the platform. Doing so ensures access to new features, enhancements, and most importantly, up-to-date security patches, which give everyone a more robust and secure user experience.
