“After high school, I worked in a supermarket. Customers came to us with all sorts of problems, like trying to find a certain out-of-stock gluten-free product in time for a birthday party. I like that feeling of helping customers solve their problems, and I think that’s been a key driver for me in my career. I’ve always been drawn to jobs where I can solve things. At home I’m called “the fixer”, not because I’m handy but rather because I’m always looking for solutions. This attribute is probably what makes me so at home in Pexip, where I’m never alone on my mission, always surrounded by people who are just as passionate as I am about making things work for customers.”

“When I was 10 years old, I devised my first murder. A Sherlock Holmes fan at heart, I wrote about murder on a train, crafting a unique set of clues to help Sherlock solve the crime. A few decades later, I’m still writing. Not murder mysteries this time, rather solving things of a more technical variety for Pexip - a job that is the culmination of many experiences. I’ve always been intrigued by possibilities, and my time at an all-girls boarding school taught me there are no limits for women. Anything is possible. So, when I entered university, I wanted to try everything: law, psychology, Japanese, IT and English. Why limit yourself to just one thing? From there, my career has been a funnel, each step getting me closer to what I enjoy most. Perhaps I’ve become the Sherlock Holmes of Pexip, taking what software developers do, interpreting it and translating it in a way so that others can unravel the mystery.”

“I must have stressed my parents out when I was a kid. I played soccer intensely while I also planned my career as a professional pianist. But I’m a realist at heart and I knew these were professions for the elite few, and so, I pivoted towards a future in technology. For me, it was easy to draw the lines between music and sports and technology, with all the logic and context that each contains. Whether you’re playing the piano, running the pitch, or designing technology, all require groundwork, some ‘programming’ of what’s intended, combined with a unique interpretation of the environment you are performing in. It wasn’t a hard decision to leave my other dreams behind because technology is super interesting, with so much to interpret and explore. It’s an art form of its own.”
