Pexip Ranks #1 in Brand Perception Survey from Wainhouse Research

Survey based on Net Promoter Score (NPS) methodology finds that end-users are most favorable toward Pexip; validates Pexip’s commitment to customer experience and strong position in the collaboration industry.

OSLO, Norway – February 5, 2019 – Pexip, a leading provider of flexible video-based collaboration offerings, today announced it ranks first in a new Wainhouse Research survey measuring end-user perceptions of enterprise video offerings. The results of the survey validate Pexip’s commitment to customer experience and strong position in the collaboration industry.

“This survey was based on Net Promoter Score (NPS) methodology, which measures how likely users are to recommend a company’s product or service to others,” said Steve Vonder Haar, senior analyst with Wainhouse Research. “Only those who have access to a specific application were asked to grade it, allowing for apples-to-apples comparison between solutions independent of vendor size or market share. Out of the 17 different video conferencing solutions evaluated in the survey, the Pexip solution garnered the most favorable brand ratings from respondents.”

“We have always prided ourselves on our disruptive product, talented team and unwavering dedication to our customers, which is all reflected in this survey data,” said Odd Sverre Østlie, CEO, Pexip. “As both technology and customer demand evolves, the modern workforce expects a truly seamless communications experience. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers in providing easy collaboration for a better, simpler work environment.”

In addition to highest overall brand perception score, Pexip also received the top rank in brand perception in several sub-segments of the survey respondent group including:

• Respondents who work for companies with 500 or more employees
• Respondents who participate in weekly video meetings
• Respondents with enterprise communications technology purchase decision authority
• Respondents in non-IT roles
• Respondents less than 40 years of age

The two leading innovators in the enterprise collaboration market, Pexip and Videxio, recently announced their successful merger. The joint company retained the Pexip name and enables video-based communication and collaboration delivered how the customer chooses, whether on-premises, self-hosted, or in the cloud. Pexip has more than 300 partners globally with users in 195 countries.

The “Brand Perception Ratings Overview – Video Meeting Solutions” survey was conducted by Wainhouse Research in a survey of more than 2,000 end-users in Q4 2018. To read the full report from Wainhouse Research, please visit here.

Nordea hires 60 new advisors after strong growth for video meetings

Nordea, the largest financial group in the Nordics, introduced the option to hold video meetings in place of  branch office visits – and was overwhelmed by the success.

Disclaimer: This article has been translated from Norwegian financial daily Dagens Næringsliv. Nordea uses Pexip Infinity for its internet video banking service. The original article (in Norwegian) can be read here. The article does not directly endorse Pexip, nor Pexip Infinity as a product, but discusses the application of video in banking.

“We were caught a little with our pants down, we didn’t expect it to come this fast”, says John Sætre, leader of Nordea’s operations in the Norwegian retail banking market.

In January, Nordea had 4,000 web-based video meetings with its customers, up from 500 a year ago. We are well underway to hosting half of our customer meetings virtually, rather than in a traditional meeting at the bank, says Sætre.

“Things really took off when we started using video in our meetings. People think it is nice to see the bank’s advisor, and most of them also think it is good to be seen”, continues Sætre, who explains that it is optional for the customer to show his or her face in the meeting.

Needed to expand

Sætre showcases the company’s new offices which it has had to rent because of the overwhelming success. A stone’s throw away is Nordea’s Norwegian HQ, centrally located in Oslo which opened one and a half years ago. It did not have the space needed for all the new hires specialising in video meetings.

“We have hired 60 new employees in our advisory centers to be able to cope with all the online meeting demand”, says Sætre.

Sætre suggests video meetings are popular because customers save a lot of time, and are able to set up meetings much more quickly. Meetings are booked in advance, or customers can connect online and ask to meet with the next available advisor.

“It can happen on a Sunday afternoon after having looked at a new house. People are ready to take the next step there and then. Now they can just jump onto their computer and speak to an advisor immediately about how big of a mortgage they can receive”, says Sætre.

It is not just young people who are using this type of meeting.

“Half of those over 80 years old who have logged in to online meetings say that they don’t envision conducting physical meetings again”, says Sætre.

“Chat will always work for simpler things, but as a relations-focused bank, I think the customer appreciates the personal contact. Robots can help the customer with getting a new card, account summaries, and such, but with greater life-changing events I think people want someone to talk to”, says Sætre.

Trial and error

Sætre explains that the bank has tried a few different solutions over the past two years, including external services for video meetings. “Now, everything is setup by logging into to the mobile or web-based online banking portal, without the customer having to download software. That has resulted in a lot less technical trouble, and allows the customer’s financial data to be shown on part of the screen”, Sætre says.

He suggests that video meetings save a lot of time, both for the bank and for the customers.

Customers don’t need to take personal time off from work to get to the bank. They don’t have to park their cars, and they don’t have to dress up, for those who still find that important before they meet with the bank, Sætre says.

He says that Nordea conducts meetings with people who are at their holiday house, in their boat, or on vacation all over the world.

Pexip to Demonstrate Video Interoperability for Microsoft Teams at Enterprise Connect

Cloud Enterprise Application Allows Customers To Continue Use Of Standards-Based Video Conferencing As They Transition To Teams

New York, March 12, 2018 – Pexip will demonstrate its new Video Teleconferencing (VTC) interoperability solution for Microsoft Teams at Enterprise Connect 2018. The solution allows non-Microsoft users to join Teams meetings and is based on the company’s successful Skype for Business interoperability solution. The cloud enterprise application is specifically beneficial for enterprises that require control over their UC environments.

As organizations transition from Skype for Business to Teams, they want to continue using the standards-based video teleconferencing (VTC) systems they already have. With Pexip, organizations can extend their Teams meetings to include VTC systems as if they were standard Teams participants. Both Teams and VTC meeting participants will benefit from their expected native meeting experiences, preserving how they consume video, audio and content sharing.

Pexip has been collaborating closely with Microsoft in the development of a cloud video interoperability solution for Teams since it was announced at Microsoft Ignite in September 2017.

A priority in making VTC interoperability available for Teams is to ensure continuity of functionality for customers, making it seamless and easy for organizations to start using Teams. Companies that already use Pexip will be able to continue to use a single application with both Skype for Business and Teams without the need to run parallel environments. Moreover, as a cloud enterprise application, Pexip gives customers complete control of their conferencing environment—with audio, video and content in dedicated cloud application instances rather than sharing services with other organizations as is the case with standard SaaS solutions. With dedicated instances comes full control of IT administration rights, versioning, Quality of Service, and integrations, which is extremely important in today’s complex communications environments.

“With Pexip, it is a given that users should be able to use the device of their choice to join modern meetings. Providing VTC interoperability for Microsoft Teams is key to reaching that goal.”
–  Odd Sverre Østlie, Pexip CEO

“In just the past few years, the video communications market has become extremely complex with an abundance of offerings. Despite what vendors say, it is becoming more difficult for end users to provide true any-to-any collaboration solutions.” said Odd Sverre Østlie, Pexip CEO. “With Pexip, it is a given that users should be able to use the device of their choice to join modern meetings. Providing VTC interoperability for Microsoft Teams is key to reaching that goal.”

Pexip already has a Microsoft certified interoperability solution for Skype for Business so we are looking forward to expanding that functionality to our customers moving to Teams.
– Bob Davis, Corporate Vice President, Office 365 Engineering at Microsoft Corp.

Bob Davis, Corporate Vice President, Office 365 Engineering at Microsoft Corp. said, “Pexip is working to bring VTC interoperability for Microsoft Teams to market. Pexip already has a Microsoft certified interoperability solution for Skype for Business so we are looking forward to expanding that functionality to our customers moving to Teams.”

Pexip Infinity is a cloud enterprise application that enterprises use to overcome their video communications interoperability challenges, and to extend the use of video to everyone inside or outside their organization. With focus on scalability, control, and ease of use and integration with other systems, it is used by leading organizations worldwide.

Pexip Infinity for Teams is planned to become available during the second half of 2018. For a full demo of this and other solutions, you can meet with Pexip at Enterprise Connect in Orlando, Florida, Booth #801 from March 12 – 14.

Pexip video interoperability for Microsoft Teams

Enable VTC systems to join Microsoft Teams meetings

Pexip video interoperability for Microsoft Teams was demonstrated at Enterprise Connect 2018.

Last year, when Microsoft announced its plan to retire Skype for Business Online and make Microsoft Teams the new platform for intelligent communications in Office 365, many companies started to think about how to integrate Teams into their ways of working.

As Pexip already delivers a Microsoft-certified interoperability solution for Skype for Business, we were pleased to announce that we will also do the same for Microsoft Teams.

At Enterprise Connect in March, as well as at InfoComm in June and Microsoft Inspire in July, we have made multiple public demonstrations of how it works: the join experience from a video system, content sharing, video performance, and more. The video above shows the demonstration as it could be seen both in the Pexip and Microsoft booths at these events.

Pexip video interoperability for Microsoft Teams was demonstrated in the Microsoft booth at Enterprise Connect 2018.

Skype for Business has firmly established itself within corporate communications and positioned itself alongside traditional video conferencing for business meetings. As we all know, these solutions don’t easily work together, so vendors such as Pexip have helped solve these interoperability challenges. In fact, 9 out of 10 requests that Pexip receive from customers are related to interoperability in one way or another.

Migrate from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams with video interoperability intact

If you are already familiar with Pexip Infinity video interoperability for Skype for Business and want to benefit from the same functionality for Microsoft Teams, it will be as simple as performing an upgrade and applying appropriate licensing keys when it becomes available. Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams can run in parallel on the Pexip platform, so you won’t have to worry about multiple Pexip deployments in addition to your migration plans from Skype to Teams.

Pexip Partners with Google Cloud to Bring Native Video, Audio, and Content-sharing Interoperability to Hangouts Meet

Infinity cloud enterprise application enables different types of business video conferencing solutions to connect to Hangouts Meet

New York, June 4, 2018 – Pexip, an award-winning video conferencing and collaboration platform vendor, today announced it has partnered with Google Cloud to provide native video interoperability capabilities for Hangouts Meet. With this update, the Pexip Infinity cloud enterprise application will enable non-Meet video conferencing solutions such as traditional SIP/H.323 systems and other modern software applications users to join Meet video calls as fully featured Meet participants.

Hangouts Meet is a video-first enterprise meeting solution available to customers of G Suite – Google Cloud’s set of intelligent productivity and collaboration tools for business. Pexip Infinity brings native video interoperability to Meet, empowering customers to join Meet video calls using the device and technology they prefer, whether it be Hangouts Meet or other video conferencing solutions.

We are excited to work with Pexip to bring native interoperability to Meet
– Rany Ng, Director of Product Management, Meeting Solutions at Google

“Hangouts Meet is designed to provide our customers with frictionless meetings,” said Rany Ng, Director of Product Management, Meeting Solutions at Google. “We are excited to work with Pexip to bring native interoperability to Meet, allowing our customers to join their meetings regardless of the tools or solutions they have at hand.”

The Pexip Infinity cloud enterprise application enables different types of business video conferencing solutions to to connect to Hangouts Meet.
– Martin Antonsson, AV Infrastructure Engineer at Spotify

“The Pexip Infinity platform enables us to connect with our external partners over Hangouts Meet regardless of the meeting systems they are using” said Martin Antonsson, AV Infrastructure Engineer at Spotify. “Now we can focus on deepening relationships with our partners  instead of worrying about the technology.”

The Pexip Infinity cloud enterprise application natively allows anyone to join Meet video calls regardless of if they have Meet or not. This includes traditional SIP and H.323 standards-based video conferencing systems, such as those from Cisco, Polycom and others, as well as Microsoft Skype for Business. Pexip transcodes video and content between all these, allowing everyone to benefit from the native experience provided by the solution they use. In other words, someone joining a Meet call using a video conferencing system will have the same, consistent experience they are accustomed to.

We believe that technology is a catalyst to a better, simpler work environment
– Odd Sverre Østlie, Pexip CEO

“With so many collaboration tools available, we believe that technology is a catalyst to a better, simpler work environment where individuals can use the device of their choice to join meetings with ease,” said Odd Sverre Østlie, Pexip CEO. “Partnering with Google Cloud to provide these capabilities for Meet is helping to provide easy collaboration and interoperability for the modern workforce.”

Pexip featured at Google Cloud Next 2018

Pexip interoperability introduced at the main stage keynote presentation

At Google Cloud Next, the company’s largest annual conference for its partners and customers, Google Cloud talked about its visions for efficient and engaging workplaces. Over the course of three days, thousands and thousands of visitors heard about every aspect of what the company does.

Of course, for Pexip, the most exciting part was to hear Google speak about meetings, and how to conduct them more efficiently and engagingly. Following our June announcement of partnering with Google Cloud, we were excited to be present, and be mentioned as a key partner at both the main stage keynote presentation, as well as at its session concerning modern meetings.

At the keynote, Google VP of Engineering, G Suite, Garrick Toubassi, introduced Pexip to everyone. The Pexip segment starts at 51 minutes in:

And, at the session that speaks about the future of meetings, Rany Ng, Director of Product Management at Google, has this to say about interoperability, and the ability to work across technology barriers to enable collaboration (Pexip segment starts at 12 minutes 40 seconds in):

Several customers and large organizations are already using Pexip to enable interoperability between its Google Hangouts Meet and other video-capable systems. One that was mentioned in particular was Spotify, who uses Pexip to enable its video conferencing systems to seamlessly join Meet meetings:

Pexip returns to Ignite with comprehensive product portfolio for Cloud Video Interoperability.

This year, Microsoft Ignite 2018 returns to Orlando, Florida. The conference takes place over four days at the end of September and is the stage on which Microsoft presents its future vision and product offerings to its customers.

Since being certified as a video interoperability platform for use with Skype for Business Server, Pexip has played a significant role in enabling customers to use video conferencing systems with Skype for Business. And, as was announced last year, Pexip will extend this functionality to Microsoft Teams, so non-Microsoft users can attend Teams meetings as if they were standard Teams participants.

Who is Pexip for Microsoft Teams for?

Pexip for Microsoft Teams is uniquely designed to provide an exclusive video interoperability environment, where each customer has its own dedicated capabilities. That means that, unlike standard cloud services, customers will not share resources with others. This makes Pexip uniquely suited for industries and organizations within, but not limited to

Pexip named a “Cool Vendor in Unified Communications and Collaboration”

Gartner recognizes Pexip in May 2018 report

Each year, Gartner analysts evaluate interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services in UCC (Unified Communications and Collaboration).

According to Forbes magazine, these are often vendors with innovations that have the potential to transform their markets. This year’s selection of Cool Vendors recognizes the user experience’s primacy in the digital workplace.

Pexip is included in the report alongside Flock, YodelTalk, and Unify Square.

“Application leaders should examine the disruptive capabilities that each of the profiled UCC vendors offers and how these could enhance their communications ecosystem.”

Gartner finds in the report that

“Users expect a seamless communications experience, even if it is constructed from multiple modalities and vendors, such as when using different solutions for audio and video.”

Key findings in Gartner’s report for the industry as a whole are that “Workstream collaboration (WSC) tools are redefining how many teams collaborate, but individual users may discover areas where their work activities are not fully supported. Users expect a seamless communications experience, even if it is constructed from multiple modalities and vendors, such as when using different solutions for audio and video. Innovative tools are now available that enable simpler, consolidated management of heterogeneous communications products.”
