As the holiday approaches, remember to take time to relax and reflect
As 2017 comes to an end, it is time for reflection as we approach the holiday season. What a year it has been. 2017 has undoubtedly been one of the most exciting years in Pexip’s history. In my mind, it compares only to 2013 when the company made its first appearance at InfoComm and released Pexip Infinity in September that same year.
2017 was a momentous year for Pexip. It is easy to look back at the year and marvel at all the things that have happened.
Thank you – to all of our customers
Pexip would not be where it is today were it not for our great customers. Over the year, we have grown our customer and user base tremendously. Not only because we have had new customers subscribing, but also because our existing customers expand and use more Pexip. We have seen inspiring examples of how to innovatively use video communications by integrating it tightly with business practices and objectives.
One example is Nordea’s face-to-face banking application, where business and private banking meetings happen via video instead of in-person. It is great to see it in action when I am a Nordea customer, and they invite me to a video meeting. Better for me, better for them, and more efficient for everyone. And surely the way for banks to considerably improve customer satisfaction.
We also witnessed the release of the US Department of Veterans Affairs’ new VA Video Connect application. The application connects veterans with their VA care facilities using video from their personal device. The introduction was so important it was featured on all major news networks and broadcast on live television. It is not without humbleness and pride I can say that we are part of changing people’s lives using video, even though we are only a part of a much larger solution. But video communications is at the core.
Thank you – to all our partners
The support from all our dedicated partners has been a critical factor in our joint success throughout the year. Our customers would not have been our customers had it not been for our partners. As our partnerships continue to strengthen, I am looking forward to our continued cooperation in 2018. On the partner side, we have also forged strong relationships with technology providers, most importantly of course with Microsoft. As we continue to grow and see further innovative uses of video, I would like to thank you again for all your hard work and commitment to Pexip.
Thank you – to Pexip Infinity
In August this year, Pexip Infinity Fusion earned a “Certified for Skype for Business” badge from Microsoft. Needless to say, the announcement was a great day for Pexip. It was honoring not only our product and acknowledging its functionality, but also the entire team behind it.
Then, at the end of September, it was announced that Pexip is an integral part of the Microsoft partner ecosystem, and is set to deliver video conferencing interoperability functionality for the upcoming Microsoft Teams in 2018. Witnessing the announcement during Microsoft’s communications keynote at Ignite was perhaps my proudest moment so far at Pexip. I could only wish our entire team had been there.
In light of all that has happened throughout 2017, and where we are at, it is time to take some days off over the holiday period. I will, and I hope that you also will take this time to reflect, relax, recharge, and let yourself inspire for 2018, which I believe will be even more exciting!
